The State Dinner
Last Thursday we had the honour of finding out that our collection had just been selected as part of a monumental event being held at the White House.
As part of the State Visit, the first between Canada and the United States in 19 years, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau and Justin Trudeau made sure to represent Canadian designers during each part of the day.
Upon arrival at the White House, the Trudeau's presented the Obama's with gifts on behalf of Canada. For Sasha and Malia Obama, we were so honoured to have our Maverick Shawls gifted to the young ladies.
The gifting happened just prior to a Let Girls Learn event, an organization in support of young female education worldwide, and a cause Michelle Obama is active in supporting. As a subject matter we're very passionate about, this could not have been more meaningful.
To us, a Maverick is 'a person who shows independence of thought and action' and our line is designed for strong, empowered females. We hope both Sasha and Malia love them!

the amount of food, As always was flavorful, And sexy, My only gripe was they ran out of spring onion in which duck rolls, But refilled as soon as they will.
I read amount of people moan about the cost of the drinks but the meals are so reasonable for an ‘all you can eat’ its hard to really find fault.
I have a fussy family thinking about food but no one leaves hungry, And I have no problem promoting ‘Chopsticks’ as a great night out.

The staff don’t smile and they give some horrible looks when coming to collect the plates.
The drinks are ridiculously priced and on 2 occasions i have been overcharged.
I believed that having chopsticks here in Swinton would make it a better place but it hasn’t really.
Dissapointing since it is a nice little place. Just the manners of staff need to show a discrepancy and bar staff overcharging!
We ahve been to chopsticks repetitions and had no complaints about the food. We took a group of fifteen, close friends and family, To have fun my son’s 18th. When I received the drinks bill, they begin to ahd overcharged by 23. I required an itemised bill, that couldn’t provide! Having spoken a number of friends about the incident since, They too said they thought their drinks bill had been excessive a decade ago, But didn’t like to struggle it. If I ever go the moment, i will be paying for our drinks as we get them.
I really didn’t want to go to Chopsticks seeing the reviews, However I must say I was pleasingly suprised. We were brought into the diner and as it was our first time, Told what to do and working the Tepanyaki bit. the fruits was lovely, newer, Loads of choice and my favourite was the Duck and Pancakes and the Tepanyaki. They cook it right glued to you to your order, I had shrimp and salmon that has been perfect and fresh and healthy. Had a very resaonably cost meal, Got consumes at the bar. i can defin. Be heading back soon. frozen treats and Toffee apples was great too.
Last night was the second time my family and I had been to Chopsticks and it would be your last. the foodstuff was boring (No fish dinners) But worst of all was the staff attitude. We were afflicted by being shouted at across the table ‘Finished’ in a loud voice. This went on repeatedly we were eating. clearly we left no tip. the lady was counting our money before she left our table and then stared at us until we left. It should have been once bitten twice shy but there won’t be a third time.
I recently dined at Chopsticks with a friend and as was the enjoyment and satisfaction of the action i certainly plan to do so again. The satisfaction was superb. previously being greeted with a friendly smile (Which always sets you off on any foot, I come across) Ushered to a well written table and a drinks order being taken, A swift guide of the food available was given. The wide selection of food all seemed freshly cooked and the added bonus of a Tepanyaki chef cooking your choice of food was a true delight. Very inexpensive too.
