The State Dinner: Gifts for Sasha and Malia
Posted: Mar 16 2016
The State Dinner
Last Thursday we had the honour of finding out that our collection had just been selected as part of a monumental event being held at the White House.
As part of the State Visit, the first between Canada and the United States in 19 years, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau and Justin Trudeau made sure to represent Canadian designers during each part of the day.
Upon arrival at the White House, the Trudeau's presented the Obama's with gifts on behalf of Canada. For Sasha and Malia Obama, we were so honoured to have our Maverick Shawls gifted to the young ladies.
The gifting happened just prior to a Let Girls Learn event, an organization in support of young female education worldwide, and a cause Michelle Obama is active in supporting. As a subject matter we're very passionate about, this could not have been more meaningful.
To us, a Maverick is 'a person who shows independence of thought and action' and our line is designed for strong, empowered females. We hope both Sasha and Malia love them!
Thank you to Sophie Gregoire Trudeau and Justin Trudeau for your support of Canadian designers and for including our line as a small part in this event.
And thank you to Sophie Gregoire Trudeau and Michelle Obama for supporting female education, entrepreneurship, and empowerment through the conversations you're having, relationships you're building, and example you're setting.

I’m forever grateful to Jetwebhackers for their remarkable assistance in recovering the $105,540 BTC I had lost to a crypto scam. This amount was meant to cover my husband’s urgent hospital bills, and I was deceived by a fraudster posing as Agent David, who promised me a return of $380,940 but it was all a scam. Thanks to Jetwebhackers’ expertise and dedication, I was able to recover not only the initial investment but also the profit I was promised. Their help has been a blessing to my family, and we can now focus on my husband’s recovery without financial stress. I highly recommend Jetwebhackers to anyone who has fallen victim to crypto scams. They are professional, efficient, and compassionate. Thank you, Jetwebhackers, for your exceptional service and support during a difficult time!

That’s such a cool moment — getting your pieces to Sasha and Malia at the White House is huge. I love that it connected to Let Girls Learn too, since supporting young women feels like it’s baked into your whole brand. By the way, I run ImageToVideoAI, which converts photos into cinematic videos using AI models like Kling and Runway — free credits on signup, no card needed. Feel free to check it out if you ever need video content for your site or campaigns.
That’s a really cool moment — getting your Maverick Shawls to Sasha and Malia at a State Dinner is huge, especially tied to something like Let Girls Learn. The detail about choosing pieces that represent independence and empowerment for young women makes it feel like more than just a gift, you know? By the way, I’m behind Inkfox AI, a free unlimited AI image generator with no sign-up required — feel free to check it out.
